Lesson Outline

1.) Introduction: Why Policies Matter (2–3 minutes)

Watch/Read:

  • “Imagine this: a leader in your geography faces a serious challenge—maybe a safety concern, a financial error, or a conflict with a volunteer. What guides their decisions at that moment? Ministry policies are more than rules. They are a foundation for healthy leadership and integrity in action.”

Reflect (Short Answer Box):

  • In 1–2 sentences, describe what comes to mind when you hear “policy manual.”
  • In 1-2 sentences, describe why the policies are an important tool for global alignment.
2.) Where to Find the Global Policies (5 minutes)

Instruction: Access the Global Policy Manual here: (Insert link to platform/folder/PDF). Download or bookmark the document for future reference.

Activity: Review the table of contents. Choose one policy that is most relevant to your role right now and write its title down.

Reflection Question: Why is this policy important for your ministry?

3.) How to Use It: A Story (5–7 minutes)

Scenario (Read):

“Maria, a local staff leader, receives a call about a serious incident at a camp involving a volunteer. Thanks to clear training and easy access to the Global Policies, she immediately follows the child protection procedures—informing the right people, documenting the situation, and ensuring the safety of kids and leaders. The trust she built with her team and Legal Services means they respond quickly and with unity. The ministry continues, protected by transparency and action.”

Reflection Question:

What might have gone wrong if Maria didn’t know where to find or follow the policy?

Write one small, clear action you (or your team) will take in the next 30 days to grow in your use of the policy manual. Some ideas:

  • Send a link to your team and ask everyone to review one policy.
  • Host a 20-minute virtual training on one key policy.
  • Print and post the policies in a shared space.

Self-Reflection:

What action will you take? Who else needs to be involved?

6.) Wrap-Up & Prayer (2 minutes)

Final Thought:

Policies don’t restrict our ministry; they protect it. They free us to lead with integrity, build trust, and focus on reaching kids with the Gospel.

Prayer (Read or listen):

Spend some time in prayer asking the Lord to help you lead with wisdom, discernment, and humility.
